Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola was impressed with Manchester United’s performance in Turin to beat Juventus.

Jose Mourinho’s United finally made the right kind of history in Italy as they came from behind to beat the Serie A champions 2-1.

Guardiola said ahead of Sunday’s derby: “If a team wins in Turin they are strong. They were so stable. I see a team with a lot of commitment. They are aggressive without the ball.

“At Stamford Bridge they were winning until the last minute. Always it’s complicated. It’s never been easy for City to beat United.

“United have beaten City more times in their history. It’s a good rival and a chance for three points.”

Asked whether this was the biggest game of City’s season, Guardiola said: “No. No, no, no. Games against the contenders are special because if you win they don’t win but we are in November.

“Maybe the game at Old Trafford will be more important. We’re on a good run, United as well. No team controls the game for 90 minutes.”
