BAUCHI – Daniel Shawulu, Executive Secretary, Christian Pilgrimage Welfare Board (CPWB), Bauchi, on Tuesday, disclosed that an examination would be conducted for the selection of Medical Personnel team willing to work during the 2018 pilgrimage to Jerusalem from the state.
Shawulu who stated this on Tuesday at press briefing on the level of preparation for the 2018 Christian pilgrimage to Jerusalem in Bauchi, said that the examination for doctors and nurses that would constitute the medical team to Jerusalem for the year 2018 would be based on merit to reduce bias in selection.
“The exams will be conducted through a Computer-Based Test for the candidates who registered through our websites. The selection will be based on merit, rather than bias of selection process of the medical team,” he said.
He said the board wants to change the system of people sitting down in their houses and make a list of people who would represent the medical team, adding the it felt that merit should be paramount in the selection process.
The Executive Secretary said registration of intending pilgrims has started with a fee of N180, 000 including basic travelling allowances and administrative charges.
He however warned that this year’s pilgrimage is strictly spiritual inclined not for merchandise or pleasure.
Shawulu noted that arrangements would be concluded before November 24, for pilgrimage to be airlifted.
