Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Gombe State, Senator Usman Bayero Nafada, says he hates the phrase that ‘teachers reward is in heaven’.
According to Senator Nafada, who held an interactive session with the organized Labour in Gombe State, teachers must be respected and treated well here on earth.
He emphasised that teachers should only expect the balance of their good reward in heaven.
Bayero Nafada who threw his weight behind labour’s struggle for the actualisation of the N30,000 minimum wage said, public primary and secondary schools need to be upgraded to what is obtainable in this digital era.
He said: “Our primary and secondary schools need to be upgraded, there hasn’t been any change for the past twenty to thirty years. The same blackboard that was used is what is still being used.”
