Two Moroccans Among Wounded in Explosion in a Bakery in Paris


Two Moroccan nationals were wounded in the explosion that occurred Saturday morning in a bakery in the 9th arrondissement of Paris, a Moroccan diplomatic source in the French capital said according to Maghreb Arab Press (MAP).

Rabat – The wounded Moroccans, both on a sightseeing tour in Paris, have been evacuated to Pitié Salpêtrière University Hospital, where one of them is expected to undergo surgery. Their condition is not serious, the same source added.

The Moroccan consular officials went to the bedside of the two wounded and remain in permanent contact with the medical services in charge of the latter. The two Moroccans, one of whom was accompanied by his wife and child, were staying in a hotel opposite the place where the explosion occurred.

According to media reports, three people were killed in the blast, a Spanish national and two firefighters. Ten others were seriously injured and 37 were slightly injured.
