, NAIROBI, Kenya, Apr 5 – Ten Chief officers from the Samburu County government have been released on cash bail of Sh10 million each making a total of Sh100 million previously given to their Governor Moses Kasaine in graft case.
Anti-Corruption Chief Magistrate Lawrence Mugambi said the accused will have similar bond terms as the one given to their governor by the High Court.
The court gave them an alternative bond of Sh30 million with one similar surety.
The accused are Stephen Siringa Letinina ( County Secretary), Daniel Nakuo Lenolkirina (Chief Officer Finance), Josephine Naamo Lenasalia (Environment and Natural Resources) Reuben Marumben Limunyete (Chief Officer Agriculture and Livestock Development), Linus Milton Lenolngenje (Deputy Director Education) Paul Lolmingani( Chief Transport and Public Works) Benard Ltarasi (Chief Officer, lands and Housing) and Lilian Balanga (Chief officer Gender and Culture).
The accused all denied the criminal indictment of abuse of office.
Their case will be consolidated with their governor on April 29, 2019 when the matter will be mentioned.
