Ritualists On The Prowl In Niger State







Minna – Niger State citizens and residents are now in fear over the influx of total strangers into Niger State causing new wave of crime, ritual killing which has so far claimed the lives of two individuals (all men) within one week and their bodies discovered in two different locations in Minna, the state capital.

The most recent of the ritual killing involves a man suspected to be a commercial motorcycle rider who was killed and his body dumped at the U-turn, between Government Day Secondary School (GDSS) and Government Secondary School (GSS), Bosso road, Min

The suspected commercial motorcyclist said to be in his early 20s, our correspondent gathered was de-bowelled, his intestine almost evacuated and some parts of the body removed before it was covered with green leaves.

Also, another corpse with similar feature was said to have been dumped near by a bush path, near the Minna Airport road, along the Bosso-Maikunkele high way about a week ago thereby creating fears that ritualists has invaded the state.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPO), Niger state Police Command, DSP Muhammad Dan-Inna Abubarkar confirmed the killings said investigations is ongoing to unravel the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

The PPRO who however called for vigilance among citizens of the state and to report any suspected movements or strange assemblage by aliens or people with questionable character to the law enforcement agencies said the command is aware of only one case of such killings.

Muhammad Dan-inna told our correspondent on phone, “We recovered the corpse of a man dumped along Bosso road and the body evacuated to the General Hospital, Minna. Investigation is ongoing at A Division metro, Minna”.
