Two Egyptians, one Kenyan national arrested in Migori

Police officers in Migori County are holding two Egyptians for engaging in business without a permit and one Kenyan national for harboring the foreigners.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, Migori County Police Commander Joseph Nthenge said the three were arrested in Awendo town on Wednesday evening by officers acting on a tip-off from members of the public.

According to the police boss, the two Egyptians have since been identified as Mohamed and Mohamed Abdelwakil and the Kenyan is William Otieno.

Mr. Nthenge also added that several household items were also seized from the rental house in Awendo where the three were arrested. The seized items include 12 cartons, 84 pieces of cutlery, 12 pieces of saucer plates among other items.

Mr. Otieno reportedly previously told police officers that the Egyptian duo came to the country to visit a relative of theirs allegedly married to him but, upon further investigations, the detectives discovered this to be a lie.

The trio appeared before a Migori court on Thursday for case mentioning.
