Sonko promises Waiguru free delivery at Pumwani Maternity Hospital

Nairobi County Governor Mike Sonko has now intimated that his Kirinyaga counterpart Anne Waiguru could be expectant following her traditional wedding to lawyer Kamotho Waiganjo.

Taking to social media, Sonko congratulated the two following their grand Saturday ceremony attended by, among others, President Uhuru Kenyatta and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party boss Raila Odinga.

The controversial Nairobi governor further promised Govenor Waiguru free delivery at the Pumwani Maternity Hospital.

He also added that his wife – Primrose Mbuvi – is also expectant and scheduled to deliver within a couple of months.

“Before the honeymoon begins let me take this earliest opportunity on behalf of my family and the great people of Nairobi to Congratulate my colleague from Kirinyaga HE Ann Waiguru for getting married to Wakili Waiganjo,” he said.

“May you have a safe delivery on your bundle of joy on the way. You are welcome to enjoy the state of the art maternity facilities at Pumwani hospital where the 1st lady of Nairobi is also set to deliver there in a couple of months to come.”

Waiguru and Waiganjo held an elaborate traditional wedding (ngurario) ceremony and a majority of their guests  turned up in colourful African attire.

Notable guests included Sports CS Amina Mohamed, Transport CS James Macharia, Interior PS Karanja Kibicho and Senate Minority Leader James Orengo (Siaya Senator).
