In Summary

  • Stancy Nyagio had gone to buy a packet of flour in their home area of Kiamutugu in Gichugu sub-county when she went missing.
  • In the scene where the mutilated body of the minor was lying, the packet of flour was also found.
  • In 2018, another a man of the same family was found murdered and his body dumped in Thirikwa coffee factory.

A four-year-old girl at Gacigoni village in Kirinyaga County was Monday morning found brutally murdered just a day after she was reported missing.

The girl was reportedly sent by her grandmother to buy a packet of flour on Sunday evening at around 6pm but did not return home.

“When darkness fell and she had not returned, I called my neighbours and we began to search for her. We searched for her the whole night but in vain…,” the grandmother painfully recounted.

“In the morning it’s when we heard people screaming and saying that her body had been found.”

The 4-year-old girl’s body was found dumped at a coffee plantation with blood oozing from her mouth and private parts.

A packet of Unga was also at the scene, indicating she was accosted while heading back home.

Gichugu Deputy OCPD Alfred Ng’eno confirmed the incident, saying police had launched investigations into the incident.

Last year, a member of the same family — a 31-year-old cousin to the deceased girl — was found murdered and his body dumped at Thirikwa Coffee Factory’s farm.

The girl’s body was taken to Kibugi Funeral Home in Kutus town.
