‘Mashindano sio kati yangu na Raila,’ DP Ruto says on Kibra by-election


Deputy President William Ruto has dismissed claims that the Kibra by election is a supremacy battle between him and ODM leader Raila Odinga.

According to the DP, Kibra residents must be wary of tactics meant to be ‘confuse’ them.

“Watu wasikuje wakawachanganya ati pale Kibra iko mashindano kati ya Raila na Ruto na Musalia na wengine,” he said.

The DP maintained that the by-election is a contest between the Jubilee candidate MacDonald Mariga, Eliud Owalo (ANC), Bernard Imran Okoth (ODM) and the other 22 candidates.

Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa at the meeting to drum support for Jubilee candidate MacDonald Mariga ahead of the November 7 Kibra by-election.


He noted that the contest between party principals would be declared in future adding that the focus should now be on the aspirants for the Kibra MP seat.

Dr. Ruto further assured Kibra residents that the candidate they elect on November 7 to replace the late Ken Okoth will be respected.

“Tunataka mashindano iwe katika hali ya amani bila matusi na bila watu kutupiana maneno au kuleta fujo,” he said.

Dr. Ruto who was speaking at a meeting with members of the Divine Church of Africa led by MCA Solomon Magembe.

ODM lawmaker Aisha Jumwa was also present at the meeting held at Mash Park Hotel to drum up support for Jubilee candidate Mariga.
