One person died on Tuesday morning after a car he was driving collided head with a lorry at Kenyenya market in Kisii.
According to witnesses, the driver of the saloon car was joining the Kenyenya-Mogonga road from Riokindo-Kenyenya road when he collided with the lorry that was coming from Magonga.
Griffins Ombaso was rushed to Kenyenya Sub County Hospital but pronounced dead on arrival.
After the incident, members of the public wanted to lynch the lorry driver but he managed to flee to Kenyenya Police Station.
He is in police custody as investigations continue.
