More than 100 employees of Spectre International Limited, a firm linked to Opposition chief Raila Odinga, have sued the company over unpaid dues totaling to Ksh.150 million.

The 166 petitioners have filed a suit at the Kisumu Labour and Relations Court before Justice Nduma Nderi seeking payment of the accrued monies dating back to 2017.

In the court documents filed through Omondi and Abande advocates, the workers are demanding Ksh.74 million as the total salary arrears owed to them.

The workers further want Ksh.36 million being total redundancy pay after their contracts were terminated in January 2018.

The workers also want the court to compel Spectre International Limited to pay them Ksh.31.2 million that they were allegedly deducted as payment to a provident fund but the monies were apparently never remitted.

They further want an additional Ksh.11.4 million being the total amount of monies deducted from their salaries to be paid to Portable Sacco Limited but was never done.

The claimants, in the suit, say they have undergone untold suffering and misery as a result, adding that several attempts to have the dispute resolved at the Labour office have failed.

High Court judge Justice Nduma Nderi has directed that the matter be heard on March 2, 2020.
