American Rapper, Kanye West, known now as Ye, has continued to make rounds in conservative media circles, following his recent claim that American film-maker, Quentin Tarantino stole the idea for Django Unchained from him.
In a heated interview between the rapper and Piers Morgan on “Piers Morgan Uncensored,” Ye allegedly claimed that he originally pitched the idea to the filmmaker as a video for one of his 2005 song, ‘Gold Digger’, which featured Jamie Foxx.
According to West, the premise of the 2012 western film ‘Django Unchained’ was inspired by the video for the hit song ‘Gold Digger.’
Django Unchained follows a formerly enslaved person (Jamie Foxx) as he joins forces with a bounty hunter to rescue his wife.
West in the interview told Morgan: “Tarantino can write a movie about slavery where he and Jamie [Foxx] got the idea from me because the idea for Django I pitched to Jamie Foxx and Quentin Tarantino for the video for ‘Gold Digger’.”
However, neither Tarantino nor Foxx have publicly responded to Ye’s claims.
