Former Nigeria’s Super Eagles midfielder Sunday Oliseh was excited after he ran into the former Spanish international Fernando Hierro.

The former Real Madrid defender was the captain of the Spanish national team when they clash against Nigeria’s Super Eagles at the 1998 FIFA World Cup in France.

Hierro netted the opening goal for Spain in the 21st minute from the penalty spot but Nigeria rallied back to win the game with Oliseh scoring one of the World cup memorable goals to earn the Super Eagles a 3-2 win.

Oliseh is now working in Qatar as one of the FIFA technical study groups and both met during a Senegal game against the host Qatar.

Oliseh expressed his excitement via his social media handle

” At the Al Thumama Stadium to work on Senegal vs Qatar, guess who I ran into? Spanish legend Fernando Hierro (middle), the last time I met him, he was heading the ball out to my direction as I was blessed to strike the goal versus Spain in France ’98. We had lots of laughs”, he wrote.
