The death toll from Tropical Storm Freddy in Malawi has reportedly jumped from 225 to 326.

According to the country’s disaster management agency, most people have died in mudslides and floods caused by the storm that first hit Mozambique on Sunday.

That number of victims is expected to rise further as President Lazarus Chakwera has said some communities have yet to be reached.

Meanwhile, the military has been deployed to help recover the bodies of the dead.
