The Nigeria U17 men’s national team will depart the shore of the country for a training tour of Germany on or before Wednesday next week.

After months of camping in Abuja ahead of the CAF U17 African Nations Cup, I can confirm to you that the team will the country between Monday and Wednesday next week.” A top NFF official confirmed to BSN Sports.

It was reported that the Flying Eagles will not resume camping unless the Golden Eaglets leave for 2023 CAF U17 AFCON.

This means, the Flying Eagles will have to wait till next week before they start preparation for FIFA U20 World Cup which commences on May 20th, 2023.

The Golden Eaglets on Thursday humiliate SiaOne Football Academy 9-2 in one of their friendly matches in Abuja.

The five times world champions will commence their U17 AFCON campaign against Zambia on 30th April at 5:00pm before taking on Morocco on 3rd May. The last group game comes up on 6th May against South Africa.

Meanwhile, the opening match will see hosts Algeria play Somalia on Saturday, 29 April at the majestic Nelson Mandela Stadium in Algiers at 20:00 local time (19:00 GMT).

Three stadiums will be used Nelson Mandela in Algiers, Chahid Hamlaoui in Constantine and 19-Mai-1956 in Annaba.

For the first time, the Under-17 AFCON will feature 12 nations. The decision to increase the number of participants is in line with CAF’s objective of encouraging participation and offering more playing opportunities to young African players.
