Man Takes His Own Life Following Assault from Son

In a heart-wrenching turn of events, a man from Chiweshe tragically ended his own life after enduring a brutal assault from his own son.

According to sources, Stephen Mubaiwa (56) of Mbisva village took his life by hanging in his bedroom, using a wire as his method of choice.

The unfortunate incident occurred after a heated family dispute between Stephen Mubaiwa and his son on May 26.

Reports indicate that the altercation escalated, leading to the father being physically assaulted by his son, whose name remains undisclosed.

The tension caused by this conflict became unbearable for Stephen Mubaiwa.

With a heavy heart and feeling isolated from the support of his wife, Zione Andiseni (50), Stephen Mubaiwa made a harrowing decision.

Three days after the altercation, he revealed to his wife his intentions to end his life, blaming her for siding with their son.

Implementing his plan, Stephen Mubaiwa locked the bedroom door from the inside, taking a wire to hang himself.

Tragically, it was in this room that his life came to a devastating end.

The alarming discovery was made by concerned neighbors who, after noticing the locked door, grew worried for Stephen Mubaiwa’s safety. Breaking down the door, they were met with the heartbreaking sight of his lifeless body hanging from the wire.

The Mashonaland Central deputy police spokesperson, Sergeant Major Samuel Chikasha, has confirmed the incident, expressing the police’s commitment to conducting a thorough investigation into the matter.

This tragedy serves as a poignant reminder of the far-reaching consequences that can arise from unresolved family conflicts, leaving a community in mourning and prompting a call for increased support and intervention for those facing similar challenges.
