U20 Women WAFU B: Falconets Thrash Benin Republic, Face Ghana In Final

Nigeria’s U20 Women team Falconets on Wednesday night continued their impressive performance in the ongoing women’s WAFU B Championship going in Kumasi, Ghana as reached the final in style.

The Nigerian side started their campaign in the competition with a comfortable 7-0 win over Niger and went ahead to beat Togo and Burkina Faso 6-0, 3-0 respectively.

They demonstrated their scoring prowess again on Wednesday evening in the semi-final of the tournament played at the Baba Yara stadium in Kumasi with a 3-0 win over the Amazons of Benin Republic.

Amina Bello put Nigeria in front in the 21st minute of the game and Nigeria seized control of the game.

Sebastian Flourish was brought down in the box in the 32nd minute and Esther Onyenezide made it 2-0 for Nigeria in the 33rd minute.

Onyenezide completed her brace and sealed the game for Nigeria in the 62nd minute as Falconet secured an emphatic 3-0 win over Benin Republic.

Nigeria’s Falconets will confront Ghana’s Black Princesses in the final of the competition this weekend.
