The President of the Dog Lovers Association in Lagos, Jackie, has taken to social media to express her disappointment in popular influencer Enioluwa and Nigerian chef Hilda Bassey after they shared a video discussing dog meat.
Recently, Hilda Bassey visited Akwa Ibom state accompanied by Enioluwa for her homecoming celebration after her attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking time by an individual.
In one of the videos they shared, Hilda introduced Eniola to a local delicacy of Akwa Ibom, which happened to be dog meat, and she urged him to try it. Although Eni resisted, Hilda tried to coerce him into eating the meat.
Upon seeing the video, Jackie, the President of the “My Dog and I” group in Lagos, criticized them for promoting the consumption of dog meat. She expressed her disapproval of Hilda celebrating such a practice while awaiting the Guinness World Records to confirm her as a new record holder.
In a video she shared, Jackie showcased her own dog, whom she affectionately referred to as her “son,” and questioned whether Hilda and Enioluwa would consider eating him as well.
As of now, neither Eniola nor Hilda has responded to Jackie’s statement.
