A France-based Nigerian singer and cultural ambassador, Jemiriye Adeniji, recently performed for the President, Bola Tinubu, in Paris, the capital France, and she says she felt privileged entertaining the country’s number one citizen.
In a statement sent to Saturday Beats, she said, “It was a privilege to have been invited by the Nigerian Embassy in France to welcome our new president, and that epoch-making event was an encounter for me, as I felt proud of being a Nigerian. I believe with our rich and diverse cultures deployed in tourism initiatives, and good governance being at the bedrock of the new administration, Nigeria is set for new wave of national rebirth and economic development.
“Having travelled far and wide, I have seen great Nigerians in Diaspora willing to contribute their quota to nation building. I believe that with our rich human resources being utilised and maximised, Nigeria will experience a transformation soon.”
According to the singer, she sang a song, praying for God’s guidance for the president to rule the country well.
The Nigerian Ambassador to France, Kayode Laro, and the Chairperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, also commended the ‘Tambele’ singer for her soulful performance, and for being a cultural ambassador for the country.”
