Nasarawa State-born tweens’ Tennis sensation, Ismail Shuaibu, has been invited by the Nigeria Tennis Federation to attend the National Trial/Camp in preparation for the ITF/CAT Tournament for U-12 year-old scheduled for Ghana.
The ITF/CAT West Africa U-12 Africa Junior competition is a tournament that serves as Qualifiers for the African Junior Tennis Championship.
Recently, Ismail participated in the Mambilla Tennis Clinic, 2023, organized by Adosis Tennis Academy for players between ages 6-18 years old.
The programme which started on the 24th of July, 2023, featured Ground Strokes, Serve, Overhead Shot, Volley, Game Strategies among others.
He officially joined his colleagues for the National Trial/Camp on Wednesday, in Abuja, prior to the African Championship in Ghana later in December this year.
While seeing Ismail off to the National Camp, the Permanent Secretary, Chief Barr. Isaac Danladi, on behalf of the Nasarawa State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, congratulated him and wished him well in the task ahead.
Danladi also appreciated Governor Abdullahi Sule for graciously approving funds for the athlete’s development programme and purchase of equipment to encourage him in transforming into a world-class tennis player in the nearest future.
