Senegal has set up a titanic final against Nigeria’s D’Tigress after they thrashed Mali in the second semi-final of the 2023 Women Afrobasketball champions in Kigali, Rwanda.
D’Tigress earlier in the day defeated the host Rwanda in the first semi-final to make it 4 straight consecutive finals.
Senegal dominated the keenly contested encounter played at the BK Arena in Kigali, but it was Mali that led 38-36 at halftime.
By the end of the 3rd quarter, Senegal had took over the game and they were able to win 60-49
Mali fought hard in the final quarter but found the Senegalese hard to crack and ended up succumbing to Senegal which won 75-65.
The Senegalese victory means they will face Nigeria in the final slated for BK Arena in Kigali on Saturday.
