After having a decent outing for Nigeria’s Super Falcons in the 2023 Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand Ashleigh Plumptre has shifted focus to the 2024 Olympic Games.

Former Leicester City defender played all the games for the country and gave a good account of herself in the second-round game against England.

While speaking to BBC Africa, Plumptre said the target is to be playing against top countries in women’s football.

“This is now the benchmark for us. The expectation is that we compete with these teams all the time, hopefully, we have proven that”, she said.

Super Falcons has been drawn to face Ethiopia in the next round of the Olympic Games qualifier.
