Nigeria’s representative Remo Stars started their journey in the CAF Champions League with a defeat in faraway Ghana.
The Nigerian league runners-up were drawn against Ghana Premier League champions Medeama SC in the draw conducted a few months ago.
Played at the Cape Coast Stadium in Ghana, the host dominated the game and was able to peg back the attacking threats of Remo Stars.
The only goal of the game was scored towards the tail end of the first stanza by Sowah and sent the crowd into a rapturous moment.
The Sky Blue Boys came back stronger in the second half and the team coach Daniel Ogunmodede made some changes to the team, but they were unable to find the much-needed equalizer as the game ended 1-0 in favor of the host.
Remo Stars will hope to change the story when they host the second leg this weekend.
