Nigeria’s Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen is considering suing Napoil over a video mocking him for missing a penalty was posted from the Serie A champions’ official TikTok account on Tuesday.
Osimhen’s agent Roberto Calenda expressed this in a statement on his Twitter X account.
This controversy incidence came after the Super Eagles top man missed a penalty in Napoil’s goalless draw away to Bologna on Sunday.
In the video, Osimhen was shown appealing for the penalty, with a strange speed-up voice used in place of his own voice.
Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, has hinted that Osimhen is considering legal action against his club.
“What happened today on Napoli’s official profile on the TikTok platform is not acceptable. A video mocking Victor was first made public and then, but now belatedly, deleted.
“A serious fact that causes very serious damage to the player and adds to the treatment that the boy is suffering in the last period between media trials and fake news. We reserve the right to take legal action and any useful initiative to protect Victor,” Calenda said.
The penalty miss against Bologna means Osimhen has failed to score in his last four games in all competitions.
He has scored three goals in five appearances for Napoli this season.
He became the first African to finish top scorer in Serie A as he bagged 26 goals to help Napoli emerge champions for the first time since 1990
