The manager of the Portuguese Primera Liga side FC Porto Sergio Conceicao has debunked the injury of Nigeria’s Super Eagles defender Zaidu Sanusi.
Sanusi returned to action for the former European champions last week after spending almost 2 months in the treatment room.
Despite scoring in the league match against Victoria Guimaraes, he was subbed off early in the game and the coach has allayed any injury fear.
” He suffered a strong tackle, was in difficulty, and before that, I felt he wasn’t at his best,” Conceição said of Sanusi at the post-match press conference.
“We shouldn’t forget the time he was out, the two games he played after the injury, and picking up competitive rhythm is never easy.
” He deserves credit for scoring, and when I saw him struggling, I brought in Taremi and Galeno, moving Pepê to a deeper position”, he added.
Sanusi was not invited for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
