The Prosperity Ladies, Bayelsa Queens condemned newcomers, Ekiti Queens to their first NWFL Premiership defeat by two-nil with goals by Shakirat Moshood and Blessing Illievida.
Elsewhere, Dannaz Ladies defeated Naija Ratels two-nil to record their first-ever top-flight win while Rivers Angels got the better of Edo Queens 3-1.
It was a back-to-back win for the Solid Miners as Nasarawa Amazons beat Heartland Queens by a goal to nil while Confluence Queens defeated Adamawa Queens in their backyard by a lone goal.
The title holders, Delta Queens were forced to back-to-back opening draws by newcomers Ekiti Queens and Remo Star Ladies respectively.
