After a scoreless half-hour, Ademola Lookman put Nigeria ahead in the 36th after good work from Victor Osimhen.

The five-time champions improved in the second half and pressed Nigeria hard.

Goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali was subbed off in the 79th minute for Francis Uzoho after he sustained an injury.

Atalanta man was the hero again in the 90th minute as he netted the second goal off an assist from Calvin Bassey and the game ended 2-0 in favour of Nigeria.
