Paris 2024: Super Falcons Won’t Underrate South Africa – Abiodun

Ahead of the crunch final round qualifying fixture for the 2024 Paris Olympics between nine-time champions of Africa, Nigeria and reigning African champions South Africa, Deborah Abiodun has said they won’t underrate their opponents.

Speaking after the 1-0 aggregate win over Cameroon in Abuja, Abiodun said the team will adhere to the instructions of the coaches to overcome the South Africans.

She expressed confidence that the Super Falcons are capable of qualifying for the Paris 2024 Olympics with the support of Nigerians.

Her words: “It is a big privilege for everyone of us to represent Nigeria at this level. We are so privileged and thankful for the opportunity. We don’t tend to take any of it for granted and likewise, we won’t take any of our opponents for granted.

“We will follow our coaches instructions and with the support of every Nigerians, we will overcome South Africa. They are a strong side. Every team is a strong side.

“Football is developing in every country. We are not underrating anybody and with the support of Nigerians, we hope to qualify against South Africa.”
