It is expected that Renard, who managed Saudi Arabia at the 2022 Qatar World Cup, will leave his role with Les Bleues at the end of the Olympics. He said as much during a press conference earlier this week. Confirming that he had informed the FFF of his desire to move on at the end of this summer’s tournament, he outlined his objectives going forward.

β€œIt’s a difficult job. If I had to be brief, I have in the back of my mind the 2026 World Cup in men’s football, I hope that it will be my third World Cup at the head of a men’s team. These are my motivations,” said Renard. The Frenchman is therefore looking to take charge of another men’s national team shortly.

He won’t be short of suitors, according to L’Équipe. The former Zambia and Ivory Coast manager is reportedly a target for Poland, South Korea, Cameroon, Nigeria and even Morocco, if Walid Regragui leaves his post.
