The coach of SuperSport United, Gavin Hunt, has explained the lack of game time for Nigerian striker Etiosa Ighodaro.

Ighodaro is currently on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns since the start of the season. The 22-year-old Nigerian has played for just over 1300 minutes, scoring seven goals with two assists in all competitions.

However, he has started only one league game since November, with Matsatsansa winning only three out of their 13 games during this period.

“I think we’ve had, I hate to say this, [but] bad luck with injuries a lot of niggling little things him [Ighodaro] especially he’s been out a week or two here,” Hunt explained.

“So there’s been no consistency with that type of thing [game time].”

Ighodaro has scored 18 goals with four assists in 56 games in the South African top-flight for SuperSport and Chippa United respectively.
