Amid transfer rumour, Nigeria’s Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has signed a 3-year contract extension with Chippa United.

Following his superb performance for the Super Eagles in the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, several top clubs in Europe showed interest in the services of the lanky goalkeeper. According to an update from South Africa, Nwabali on Thursday signed a 3-year contract extension with the South Africa Premier League side. Despite attractions from several clubs, the management of Chippa United failed to agree terms with these clubs and succeeded in persuading Nwabali to sign a deal. Nwabali is expected to be in goal for Nigeria in the upcoming African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin and Rwanda.
