Nigeria International striker, Victor Osimhen, has confirmed that he will not be joining Chelsea in the upcoming January 2025 transfer window, reiterating his commitment to Turkish club, Galatasaray, where he remains on loan until the end of the current season.
Osimhen’s decision follows an intense speculation linking him with a potential move to the London Stamford Bridge.
After netting his fourth goal for Galatasaray in their 2 – 1 Victory over Besilicas in the Instanbul derby, on Monday 28th October 2024, Osimhen responded to questions about his future by saying, “Yes I Am here”, as reported.
This has now put to an end rumours of an early departure, with the striker now opting to fulfill his loan from Napoli till the season”s end.
The 25 years old striker has been in a tremendous form, scoring in three consecutive Turkish Super Lig matches, including a memorable over – head kick against Antalyaspor.
His latest goal, a precise header in the 67th minute, helped Galatasaray to secure their Six point lead at the top of the league standings.
Chelsea remains interested in Osimhen, but their fans may have to wait until 2025 to see him in a blue”s jersey.
Chelsea legends, John Mikel Obi and Didier Drogba have endorsed Osimhen as an ideal fit for their former club.
For now, Okan Baruk”s Galatasaray side, with Victor Osimhen”s four four goals and four assists in six Appearances, looks set to capitalize on his talents, as they lead Turkish Super Lig with 28 points from 10 games played.
