As the 2026 World Cup qualifier set to resume in March 2025, the coach of the Crocodiles of Lesotho Letslie Notsi has admitted the underdog tag but insists they are capable of springing up surprises.
Lesotho is placed 4th in the group that has established teams like Nigeria’s Super Eagles, Bafana Bafana of South Africa, the Amavubi of Rwanda, the Cheetahs of Benin and Warriors of Zimbabwe.
While speaking to the FIFA media, Notsi said they have the heart and discipline to spring a surprise in the group.
” We’re in a group with giants like Nigeria and South Africa, but we’ve shown we can hold our own”.
“We’ve secured results against teams with far greater resources, including a 1-1 draw in Nigeria and a solid win over Zimbabwe.”
” We may be underdogs, but we have the heart and the discipline to achieve something remarkable.
The World Cup is a thrilling prospect, and we’re giving it our all,” he concluded.
