The Council of European Union on Monday extended the sanctions on the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) for another year, until Dec. 12, 2025, it said in a statement.
The sanctions targeted 23 individuals and one entity linked to human rights violations, electoral interference and ongoing conflict.
Those designated face asset freezes, and individuals are also subject to travel bans.
The EU said it would continue to monitor developments in the DRC and may amend the sanctions list based on the situation on the ground.
