U17 World Cup Qualifier: Nigeria To Face Winners Between Gabon, South Africa In 2nd Round

Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team have been drawn bye in First Round of 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) conducted the draw for the next FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers in Cairo, Egypt on Thursday.

Flamingos which reached the semi final of the 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in India will start their qualification journey in the Second Round.

Bankole Olowookere’s side will meet the winner of the First Round clash between South Africa and Gabon in March 2025.

The winner of the Second Round games will reach the third round where the four teams which will represent Africa will emerge in April 2025.

Nigeria and Ghana have Africa’s best performance at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

The two West African teams have won bronze medals at the competition.

Only Nigeria reached the quarter final of the last edition of the tournament in Dominican Republic this year.
