Manchester United forward Alejandro Garnacho has beaten Super Eagles Paul Onuachu to the 2024 FIFA Puskás Award with his breathtaking bicycle kick against Everton.
Onuachu was nominated for the award after his incredible match-winning goal for Trabzonspor against Konyaspor.
His moment of brilliance arrived in the 85th minute when Enis Destan sent a cross in from the left flank.
But Garnacho’s acrobatic effort, which left fans and pundits in awe against Everton in November 2023 was one of the 11 nominees for the prestigious award.
The Argentine stunned Goodison Park when he rose to meet Diogo Dalot’s cross and fire the ball beyond Jordan Pickford, with United legend and pundit Gary Neville calling it “the best overhead kick I’ve ever seen.”
