NAIROBI, Kenya, Jan 9 – Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) portal crashed moments after the release of 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examinations (KCSE) exam results as parents and students scrambled to know their grades.

This has been attributed to the thousands of logins from institutions, parents and candidates.

Institution heads have complained at the slow process of getting the results in the wake of the stall.

Kereri Girls’ High School principal Tabitha Mogonchi who spoke to Capital news lamented at the sluggish nature of the KNEC portal.

“We are having network issues in getting the full results. We hope to download the full results once the network stabilizes, “she said.

Education Cabinet Secretary Migos Ogamba while releasing the 2024 results announced that individual candidates as well as institutions can access the results on the Kenya National Examinations Council portal, https://results.knec.ac.ke.

Candidates are required to input their index number as indicated in their registration data.

The 2024 KCSE saw 962,512 candidates sit for their exams, marking an increase from the 899,453 candidates who sat the previous year.

The examinations were taken across 10,755 Centres spread across the country.
