Record-breaking: Imo Community Names Woman ‘Man of the Year’

For the first time, a woman breaks the stereotype expectation as she has been given the “Man of The Year” award in Umuaka, a community in Imo state.

Umuaka Times declared Lesley Agams the Man of the Year for the Umuaka community in recognition of her “intervention programs in building the capacity of Umuaka women.”

A woman has never held the title until now. It is believed that she has set the pace for others to follow suit.

Lesley Agams is a former Oxfam Country Director in Nigeria. Thereafter, she moved to her town in Imo state to aid development in the state and is now getting recognized for it.
