An initiative focused on giving voice to women in society, Unmasked, has organized a program to encourage women to live better.

The Program, themed “Her Truth”, will hold on July 17 at Ebute-metta, Lagos. Attendance will be strictly by invitation.

Ms. Defunke Adewunmi, an advocate for positive change and the convener of the event, praised women for massively showing interest in the event.

She revealed that the program is an avenue for women to freely express themselves without fear of criticism. She also believed that the event will provide emotional empowerment for the participants.

In her words, “The program is all about women who can come together to talk without being judged, and when they can also be empowered and encouraged.”

“The dream of this initiative came a week ago to which we aim to talk more about women. It was amazing seeing women rise and show massive interest in the event.”

The CEO of Thefood Sense Shop and Black Diamonds Support Group, also disclosed that social media handles have been created to promote the event for a wider reach.

She said, “During this program, we only plan to host 70 to 80 women which they will register for the sum of #4,500 only. The money is used for the branded tee-shirts, logistics, and decorations of the place we are using.

“This brand already has a social media presence on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram and we intend to take this initiative beyond this stage with the utmost aim to not just empower woman but constantly create a support platform where they feel unashamed of whatever situation they might be going through”, she added.
