2022 World Cup Qualifier: Pinnick Canvass For More Enabling Environment

With few months to the start of 2022 World Cup qualifier across Africa, president of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Amaju Melvin Pinnick has canvassed for more enabling environment for Super Eagles.

Nigeria senior men’s football team is among the numerous countries that will jostle for 5 slots allocated to the continent of Africa.

While speaking on Arise TV on Tuesday, Pinnick thanked the government for providing enabling environment and further canvass for more conducive environment.

“Our main goal in the federation now is to qualify for world cup, we know if government provide enabling environment, raise fund because sports is not supposed to be sponsored solely by government.

“Presently, the atmosphere has been conducive. Considering the number of teams that are going to go to world cup, South Africa, Senegal, Morocco, Algeria, all wanted to be present, some lesser countries are also nursing the ambition.

“But the good thing is that our players are young, patriotic and enterprising.

“Second thing that is going for us is that we have good Nigerians that want to support us, it’s not a tea party, its going to be huge in terms of costing because we will be flying back and forth.

“Let the enabling environment continue, the elite and corporate in Nigeria also known the value of sports to the their businesses,” he said.

Nigeria’s Super Eagles will open it’s World Cup qualifying campaign against Leone stars of Liberia in the match day one.
