Barcelona is reportedly monitoring Mohamed Salah’s contract situation at Liverpool. The Egypt international has again been in excellent form for the Reds during the 2021-22 campaign, scoring 28 goals and registering 10 assists in 36 appearances in all competitions.
Salah’s contract at Anfield is due to expire in June 2023, though, and the Merseyside giants are finding it difficult to come to an agreement with the attacker over an extension.
Liverpool are allegedly not prepared to meet the 29-year-old’s salary demands, which has created a standoff, and Juventus have recently been credited with an interest in his services.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are also keeping a close eye on the situation and could move for the Egyptian if the opportunity arrives during this summer’s transfer window.
The report claims that the Catalan club’s head coach Xavi is determined to bring Salah to Camp Nou as part of a rebuild, with the team looking to return to the top of European football once again.
The former Basel youngster has scored 153 goals and registered 57 assists in 239 appearances for Liverpool since arriving at Anfield from Roma in July 2017.
