Robert Lewandowski has reportedly “agreed” a multi-million euro deal with Barcelona. The Bayern Munich striker has agreed a three-year-deal with the La Liga giants, according to Polish outlet Interia Sport. Lewandowski has been with Bayern since 2014, where he has developed into one of the most fearsome forwards on the planet.

But with just a year left on his current contract, the Pole’s future in the Bundesliga is in doubt. And journalist Sebastian Staszewski has now suggested the 33-year-old is seeking a new challenge with Barcelona, though it does not necessarily mean he will end up joining the Catalans.
He wrote: “Robert Lewandowski has an agreement with Barcelona. The deal is to cover a 3-year contract. There were also offers from PSG, City and LFC.

“Does this mean summer transfer? Not necessarily. But the info sent to Bayern is clear: the Pole wants to change the club.”
Barcelona manager Xavi has identified Lewandowski as the prolific striker his side needs to restore their former glory. It comes despite the club signing the forward’s former Bundesliga Golden Boot rival – Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – from Arsenal in January.

Despite the reported progress made by Barcelona in signing the goal-machine, they will face competition from several other European giants who could offer Bayern more money. Other clubs understood to be interested are Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City.

While a three-year-deal could be seen as a risk for the Catalan side, they would undoubtedly be signing a world class player if they are successful in the summer. The Poland captain has shown no signs of slowing down this season with 46 goals already across all competitions.
