Frank Lampard’s position at Chelsea looks to have come under more pressure in recent weeks.
Chelsea struggling
Chelsea, despite early season promise, have endured a nightmare winter period so far.
The Blues’ latest outing saw them put to the sword in concerning fashion by Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
This result means that the Londoners have now picked up just one win from their last six league outings, four of which ended in defeat.
Their loss to City also saw Chelsea slip down to 9th place in the Premier League table, seven points adrift of 2nd placed Manchester United, who also boast a game in hand.

Shevchenko back to Chelsea?
Such disastrous form, when taking into account the amount of money spent by the club’s board during the summer, has inevitably seen pressure begin to mount on the shoulders of inexperienced Chelsea boss Frank Lampard.
It was even suggested by reliable outlet The Athletic on Sunday evening that the higher-ups at Stamford Bridge have already begun looking at alternatives to Lampard:

And the days since, in turn, have seen a number of managers tipped to potentially take up the reins in southwest London.
Thomas Tuchel, who was recently let go by French powerhouse PSG, was named as one possible replacement for Lampard on Monday.
And now, Ukrainian national boss Andriy Shevchenko, who spent three years as a player at Stamford Bridge between 2006 and 2009, has been touted as another alternative.
