A recent report from England has credited Aston Villa with an interest in David Brooks.
Brooks’ Bournemouth stint
David Brooks joined Bournemouth in the summer of 2018, from then-Championship outfit Sheffield United.
The Cherries are understood to have paid United just over £10m for the attack-minded midfielder’s services.
Brooks went on to enjoy a fruitful debut campaign on the south coast, notching seven goals and five assists in 30 Premier League outings.
However, the Welshman’s 2019/20 campaign was riddled with injury.
Brooks suffered ligament damage in July of 2019, and was originally expected to be out until December of the same year.
However, the 23-year-old was then forced to undergo a second operation, meaning he had to wait until June of 2020 for his first outing of the campaign.
Aston Villa linked with Brooks
Brooks has since managed to remain largely injury-free, and now appears to be rediscovering his best form.
Bournemouth were, of course, relegated from the Premier League last term.
But they have been one of the standout sides in the Championship of late, with Brooks central, notching three goals and five assists in 16 league outings.
Such impressive production has, unsurprisingly, led to mounting transfer speculation surrounding the winger/midfielder, though.
Brooks was linked with both Manchester United and Leicester City during the delayed summer window:
Understand David Brooks is expecting an offer from Leicester, and that #LCFC are leading the race for his signature. Manchester United still considering him among their targets, but Sancho remains the priority. #mufc

And now, on Sunday, another top-flight outfit have been credited with an interest in the Welshman.
That side, according to the Mirror, is Aston Villa.
No potential fee is mentioned in the report. But, given the fact that Brooks has just under 18 months to run on his current deal at the Vitality, the possibility exists that Villa could snap him up in a cut-price deal.
Dean Smith is looking to further strengthen at Aston Villa.
