Aubameyang not worried about Arsenal’s struggles in front of goal

Arsenal struggling for goals

Arsenal’s main issue so far this season has been a lack of goals.

After six game weeks, the Gunners have managed to score just eight Premier League goals.

This is a much lower return than the top clubs and an issue which Arsenal need to fix if they wish to start picking up more victories.

Liverpool for example, have netted 15 this term, Everton 14, Leicester 13, Aston Villa 12 and Tottenham an impressive 16 goals.

Aubameyang not worried about Gunners’ attack

There could be a number of factors behind the north Londoners’ declining attacking output.

The three/five-back formation deployed by Mikel Arteta is not the best for creating chances and carving teams open.

The Spaniard has slowly started to transition away from this formation into a three-man midfield, with the struggles of adapting to a new system perhaps hindering the Gunners?

One of the more obvious issues, though, is that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been goal shy this season.

The Gabonese international has been Arsenal’s main source of goals since joining the club – notching 22 in the league last term.

However, this season has seen the 31-year-old score just once in the Premier League.

But when discussing Arsenal’s lack of goals recently, Aubameyang stated that he is not worried:

“We are not finding scoring goals easy at the moment.

“This happens in teams — I haven’t scored for a few games in the league, either.

“But we’re an experienced team, with experienced attacking players and we know we will turn this around. I’m not worried about that.”
