Bale’s agent discusses possibility of extending the Welshman’s Tottenham stint

Bale joins Tottenham

Last week’s marquee transfer news, of course, centered around Tottenham.

Not only did the north Londoners sign highly-rated Sergio Reguilon from Real Madrid, but they also managed to pry Gareth Bale away from the Bernabeu.

Unlike Reguilon, though, Bale has only joined the Lilywhites on a season-long loan.

But despite the Welshman believed to be earning a whopping £600,000-a-week, it is understood Spurs are paying less than half of that:

Bale’s agent on winger staying at Spurs for an extra year

Unfortunately for Spurs fans, they should not expect to see their former star back in action too soon.

The reason for this is the winger is nursing a knee injury he picked up on international duty.

It is not all negative for Spurs fans though, as Bale’s agent has recently hinted his client could stay at Tottenham for longer than his current loan.

When discussing the possibility of extending Bale’s Tottenham stint recently, Jonathan Barnett had this to say:

“I’m sure that if things really worked out well, we’d have no problem.

“This is the club he wants to play at. I don’t see any problems if he wants another year.”

Barnett was then drawn on Bale returning to Real Madrid, who he is under contract with until 2022, to which the Welshman’s agent stated:

“Hopefully the subject [of returning to Real] won’t come up. He will be so successful at Tottenham he’ll want to stay and it will be a simple deal to do the rest.”
