A report from England on Tuesday has credited both Chelsea and Arsenal with an interest in Bursaspor youngster Ali Akman.
Who is Akman?
Ali Akman is an 18-year-old centre-forward currently plying his trade in the Turkish top-flight.
Despite his tender years, the starlet was integrated into the first-team ranks at Bursapor during the 2019/20 campaign.
All told, Akman went on to feature 20 times in the league last term – the majority of which came from the bench – scoring two goals in the process.
The current season, though, has seen Akman take a major leap forward, establishing himself as a key cog in Bursapor’s frontline.
To this point, the Turkish under-21 international has managed 16 league starts.
And, across these appearances, Akman has racked up an impressive nine goals and three assists.
The youngster is a centre-forward by trade, but is also capable of lining out on either wing, positions he has taken up on several occasions already this season.
Chelsea & Arsenal eyeing Akman
Now, amid his impressive start to the campaign, Akman has been linked with some of the Premier League’s top sides.
According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea and Arsenal are among the English teams tracking the teenage sensation.
Akman has just six months left to run on his current contract, with it suggested that he does not intend to put pen to paper on a fresh deal. In turn, Bursaspor are said to be willing to listen to offers now, rather than risk losing their crown jewel for minimal compensation in the summer.
It is added that the Turkish outfit are hoping to secure around £3m for Akman:
