Cop found dead at his Nyahururu home with a rope tied to his neck, wife arrested

Police officers have arrested Selina Wambui within Garden Estate in Nyahururu after her police officer husband was found dead inside their bedroom.

A police report seen by Citizen Digital said officers from Nyahururu Police Station received a call from Ms Wambui at around 8am on Friday.

She claimed that her husband- a 35-year-old police officer identified as police constable David Murai- had committed suicide.

Upon visiting the scene,  officers found the deceased kneeling beside his bed with a blue lanyard rope tied tightly around his neck.

In puzzling circumstances, one end of the rope was tied to the bed’s wooden stand.

His wife who was present in the house the entire night was thus arrested and carted off the police station for questioning.

Neighbours said the couple has been having frequent domestic squabbles although the cause of death is yet to be determined.

The scene of the crime was processed and the body of the decedent moved to the Nyahururu Hospital Mortuary.
