Cops arrest 3 foreigners armed with an AK-47 after a series of robbery incidents in Kajiado West


Detectives based in Kajiado West have arrested three robbery with violence suspects, recovering a loaded AK-47 rifle in the process.

The three suspects, reports say, are from a neighboring country and are believed to be behind several robbery incidents in the region.

In a statement released by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Wednesday, Boniface Lesagi, Joseph Ole Ntito and Lekina Monoi were arrested following an incident in which a lorry was shot at and forced to stop.

The ill-fated lorry  was headed to Shompole market at the time.

Preliminary probe indicates that seven individuals lost thousands of shillings during the incident; with some stolen property being recovered from another vehicle of registration KBA 626Q.

The three suspects are in police custody awaiting their arraignment in court.
